Secure Global Logistics Designated as TSA Certified Cargo-Screening Facility

Houston, Tex. (Jan. 22, 2009) - Secure Global Logistics, based in Houston, Tex., announced today that it has met the Transportation Security Administration's requirements to be designated as TSA Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF). Effective Feb. 1, fifty percent of all passenger-aircraft cargo must be screened by a CCSF, and 100 percent of all cargo flying in passenger aircraft must be screened by August 2010.

TRANSPORTATION / NEW EYE ON CARGO / Tighter screening rules at airports mean more responsibility for carriers and freight handlers

Houston: AIRLINES, freight forwarders and airport officials are gearing up for new cargo screening rules that go into effect Sunday. Most involved say they don't expect any major hitches, but some are expecting some confusion. The rules call for 50 percent of all cargo on passenger airlines to be screened by a cargo-screening facility certified by the Transportation Security Administration.
